Their personal care assistant will help to personalize the resident’s room and to make sure their specific needs are catered for, taking note of special dietry requirements and other preferences. At Benoni we always try to consult the resident, their own Doctor, Nurse or Social Worker and their closest family about every detail of the residents needs, and to help assess the type of care that is most appropriate for the resident. We have
found that by working together with the close co-operation
of families and professional teams, we can make the
residents stay with us as comfortable and as happy as
possible. Our Philosophy of Care can therefore be summarized as follows: - Maintaining dignity, privacy and independence for everyone Meeting individual needs, whenever practical Encouraging achievement and promoting self esteem For staff to willingly respond to each residents needs and to be on hand when they are required For each resident to enjoy a happy, contented and fulfilled life in a secure, caring environment with a homely atmosphere Location Benoni Nursing Home is an elegant detached house set in quiet, gently sloping mature gardens overlooking the sea. There are sea views from most of the rooms on the southern side of the home and on a fine day you can see the Scilly Isles from the top bedrooms. Originally built by a Cornish Miner who made his fortune by buying a disused gold mine in South Africa. Needless to say the Cornish are the best miners in the world and it didn’t take long before he struck a rich vein of gold. The mine was called Benoni. The home was sensitively converted from a family house in 1972 to combine the light, airy, well proportioned rooms, with their friendly, homely atmosphere and all the modern facilities needed to provide the best in nursing care. Benoni is situated in the town of St Just; a small but lively community offering local shopping and facilities just a short walk from the home. There is also a Doctor’s Surgery nearby. |
