St Just is an ideal place to stay with several local hotels and guesthou-ses offering excellent value for money. Staffing Level and Hours Fully trained and qualified staff are on call or duty 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Room Facilities There are 3 double and 15 single [one en-suite] rooms on three floors served by a lift capable of holding a wheelchair and an attendant. The rooms are tastefully decorated and residents are consulted on the decoration of their room before being admitted to the home. If residents feel more at home with their own furniture we will be happy to accommodate. Benoni is an open house and relatives and visitors are wel-come at any time night or day. Every room is fitted with a nurse call system, television aerial point and hand-basin. Many of the rooms have a sea view and, on a clear day the Isles of Scilly can be seen from the rooms on the third floor. A personal telephone can be put in any room if required and telephones are always available for residents to use. We also have email and fax facility within the home. Choice of Room We take great care to offer the most appropriate rooms for the needs of our clients. However it is not always possible to offer a preferred room type due to the high demand on our beds, but we do try to accommodate those specific needs when we can. Care Provision At Benoni Nursing Home we cater for the elderly, chronically sick, dementia, terminally ill and for physically handicapped people under pensionable age. We also give respite and short-term care, including holiday breaks, to enable carers to take a break from full time caring for friends or relatives. We arrange Physiotherapy, Occupational and Recreational Therapy, The Cape Cornwall Health Center provides additional health cover for the home and we have weekly visits from the local GP. Of course residents may have his or her GP to attend them if they prefer. Care Aids There is a comprehensive “Nurse Call” system in every room so that in the event of any difficulty, residents can summon assistance at any time of the day or night. There is full central heating, lifts capable of holding a wheelchair and an assistant serve all floors, and hydraulic bath hoists and specialist lifting devices are available when necessary. High Level Care The Bryher Wing on the ground floor consists of a large double room with a Rest Room Annex. It provides extra facilities where those needing constant care can be as comfortable as possible and closely monitored by our nursing staff. Visiting Services and Activities There is a comprehensive range of visiting services including, Hairdresser, Chiropodist, Physiotherapist, Library with many books available with “large print” and “talking book” cassettes and special facilities for the blind or partially blind.. For the more athletic we have a Keep Fit class and regular entertainment from professional musicians. Cape Cornwall singers perform on special occasions and can be booked for events. |
