Frequently
Asked Questions Answered
Would I
be allowed to have a trial period before definitely
making up my mind?
Yes, we
encourage prospective Residents to have a trial period.
Usually one month is found to be a suitable
length of time in which to decide if you feel at home.
Will I
lose my independence?
No, in
fact we encourage Residents to remain as independent
as they possibly can, but we are there to
assist them when required.
Do I have
to get up and go to bed at certain times?
No, it’s
your home; you get up and go to bed when you wish.
What if
I require a special diet?
We can
cater for special diets e.g. diabetic, low fat, etc.
It would however be helpful if we knew in
advance of any special requirements.
What happens
if I cannot sleep during the night?
You can
call a Nurse or Care Assistant who will make you a hot
drink and sit and talk to you if you
wish.
If you
have any further questions to ask, please do not hesitate
to contact Matron Sue Mason or the
Manager Helen Hutson.

If you
are looking for a homely atmosphere in a caring friendly
environment, you are most welcome
to visit Benoni at any time. No appointment is necessary.
We have
a high staff to resident ratio. The standard of care
we offer, we believe, is the best there is.
We do NOT cut corners on resident’s supplies, equipment
or care.
Our philosophy
is“ We treat our residents as we would want our own
family to be treated”.
This isn’t
and won’t be compromised.
Sometimes
you hear horrific stories on the news, in the papers,
about care standards within certain
homes. These stories also horrify us. We believe that
residents have to not only be cared for,
but loved also.
We also
extend our care to the relatives/friends. Sometimes
dealing with social services, solicitors,
standing orders, banks and peoples properties can be
very confusing. We are here to help.
We will try to answer any questions and help in any
situations, which arise. There are no
silly questions concerning someone’s care. We will come
out to your home, if you would prefer,
have a cup of tea and get through the red tape together.
The owners
Paul and Helen are at Benoni every day and are contactable
24 hours per day.
They are
committed to making Benoni an integral part of the community
and also a “Flagship”
of care and understanding for hopefully other homes
to follow.
We are
always open to any suggestions for improvement ……………….
